GOAL

INSTALL is an intensive workshop aimed at artistə of all disciplines with the goal of providing theoretical, technical and design skills to integrate their own artistic research with new media, design and coordinate complex multimedia installations, and operate as interdisciplinary directors, capable of directing processes in which sound, light, video, interactivity and scenography converge. The approach is strongly transmedia and alternates between moments of critical reflection, individual research and practical experimentation.

FOCUS

Individualized mentorship: portfolio and project reviews with individual interviews with faculty to refine one’s vision and develop new research trajectories.

Critical analysis of the context of digital, new media, a.i., immersive and transmedia art. Artists, movements, techniques, technologies, festivals, calls, exhibition spaces, art market and project strategies.

Design tools: 

  • Review project dossier
  • Budget development study and feasibility assessment
  • Role definition and transdisciplinary collaborative processes
  • Technical feasibility, production timeline.

Networking and networking
Structured opportunities to meet and engage with industry professionalsə, curators, artists through personal talks and panel discussions

Public display and group exhibition

SOFTWARE AND SYSTEMS

Software: Analysis of the main digital tools for creating multimedia installations, with full tutorials and workflows.

  • TouchDesigner
    real-time graphics and interactive environments
  • Ableton Live
    sound design and sound design
  • MadMapper
    video mapping, laser and DMX control

No advanced skills required: the workshop offers focused introductions, hands-on exercises, and technical support

Multimedia: during the workshop you will experiment directly with:

  • Show lights (DMX, LED bars, moving heads, lasers)

  • Professional audio systems for immersive and multichannel environments

  • Projectors and video systems for videomapping and sensitive environments

  • Sensors and actuators for interactive installations

  • Scenic materials and techniques for physical integration in space

TIMING

Step 1 – Selection

Submission of applications → by May 31, 2026
Payment and enrollment → by June 2, 2026

Phase 2 – Online review (preparatory)

June 2-June 8, 2026
Individual online interviews (1 hour) with teachers for:
Portfolio analysis and artistic journey.
Design orientation toward the week in attendance

Phase 3 – In-person workshop

Payment on time is mandatory to ensure participation.
